Impossible to book an appointment here

I find it frustrating that I struggle to secure appointments at this practice, as I'm frequently directed to contact them the following morning, despite receiving the same instruction when I call the day before. On most occasions, I'm advised to visit the pharmacy or seek care at the hospital instead. This approach seems to undermine the purpose of having a general practice available to me.

The practice is run excellently with a friendly and helpful reception team. The medicine manager provides brilliant support and assistance. The practice nurse is fabulous and brings considerable experience to their role. Having been with this practice for many years, we appreciate how this small surgery has maintained its personal approach and continues to know its patients well.

Long wait for a routine appointment slot

Attempted to book a consultation to discuss a matter on behalf of a family member and was informed that calls should be made after 8 o'clock on Wednesday. Following this instruction, I was advised that an appointment could be scheduled for the following Monday. Found this process frustrating given current expectations. During a previous visit, the clinic appeared to have very few patients present at that time.

Refused to treat eye problem, redirected to pharmacy

The standard of care provided at this practice falls significantly short of expectations. My daughter experienced a concerning eye condition with notable swelling, redness, and discomfort that worsened over several days. When she contacted the practice requesting an appointment and medical assessment, she was initially directed to a pharmacy. The pharmacy staff appropriately explained they were unable to provide the necessary treatment and recommended she seek care from a medical professional. Upon contacting the practice again the following day, she was redirected to an optician rather than being seen by clinical staff. This approach does not align with established UK healthcare standards and principles. It is troubling that patients are being directed away from appropriate medical services in this manner, and the overall handling of this situation reflects poorly on the professionalism expected from a general practice.

Phone lines constantly busy when trying to book urgent appointment

The reception team has been difficult to reach. I have been attempting to make an urgent appointment since early morning and have experienced repeated connection issues when calling. I tried contacting from multiple phone numbers without success. I would not recommend this practice if you require prompt appointment availability. UPDATE- After continued attempts over an extended period, I remain unable to connect with the practice by phone. The hospital had advised me to arrange an appointment with the GP the same day, however I have found it impossible to establish contact with the surgery.

Prescription orders repeatedly sent wrong items

Over the past week, I have attempted to order my prescription multiple times without receiving the complete medication I require, despite making repeated requests. I have consistently received incorrect items and have found that some medications have been omitted from my orders. I found the interactions with staff to be dismissive and unhelpful. I was concerned when my medication was discontinued due to my inability to attend appointments whilst dealing with a serious health issue, which resulted in difficult withdrawal symptoms and a period of significant emotional distress. I feel the practice is poorly managed and that both clinical and reception staff lack professionalism. I believe the practice has not taken my health concerns seriously and that their approach has negatively impacted my wellbeing. I am considering making a formal complaint about the standard of care I have received over recent months, as I feel my needs have not been adequately addressed.
