Subsequently, I received a call stating they could not accommodate me after 5pm and that I would need to take time away from work to attend during their preferred hours. This presents a significant difficulty given my work commitments, as I would need to inform my clients of my unavailability. I pay approximately £90 for these examinations, which typically last around 20 minutes, and the surgery maintains opening hours until 6pm. I attend the practice infrequently, visiting perhaps two or three times annually, and have not previously experienced difficulties. I found the process unhelpful given that this medical is essential for my employment. The requirement to make multiple trips to drop off and collect paperwork, combined with the inflexible appointment availability, means I am unable to proceed with my plans as the medical cannot be completed in time. This situation is frustrating and feels like a considerable inconvenience.

I found this practice to be deeply disappointing throughout my entire experience. The registration process required documentation that seemed unnecessary, and after submitting everything, I was told to wait at least two weeks before calling to confirm my status. When I made multiple calls to check, staff were unable to locate my details in their system, despite receiving email confirmation that registration was complete. Once I managed to book an appointment, the receptionist's manner felt unwelcoming. During the consultation, I felt the clinician didn't fully engage with my concerns and simply prescribed medication without thorough discussion. When I collected the prescription, I discovered it was identical to a medication I'd already been given by another clinician, which had proven ineffective for me. I was also told about a referral to a specialist, though this didn't seem to be the most appropriate specialist for my particular issue. I was informed I would receive a letter with appointment details, but this never materialised. I would rate this practice much lower if the system allowed it. It appears many GP practices may be struggling to deliver adequate care in the current climate.

I have updated this review to 5 stars as I have personally observed significant improvements. Thank you. It is unfortunate because the clinical staff here are excellent, however I have found one member of the reception team to be consistently curt and dismissive towards myself and other patients on multiple occasions. There have also been instances where I felt the information provided was inaccurate. On two separate occasions, I was told that someone would follow up with me by phone or message, but this did not happen. I am reluctant to leave critical feedback, but I would appreciate if this matter could be addressed.

The current medical centre replaced the previous facility at the former location. My family members use this surgery, and I have significant concerns about how the reception staff interact with patients. I believe that most of the team, with few exceptions, would benefit from additional training or a change of role, as their approach often comes across as unwelcoming and dismissive. Receptionists serve as the initial contact point for patients who are often vulnerable and seeking support, yet the team appears to lack understanding and compassion in their interactions. I have also noticed that a considerable proportion of negative reviews seem to come from patients from diverse ethnic backgrounds, which raises questions about consistency in how different patients are treated. The surgery has a responsibility to take patient feedback seriously and ensure that all individuals are treated with equal respect. The manner in which reception staff communicate with patients at first contact is discouraging and potentially affects the quality of care patients receive. This has been the finest GP practice I've experienced. I've been able to secure same-day appointments during urgent situations on several occasions, and the subsequent care has been comprehensive.
