Feedback reflects significant challenges with appointment access and telephone communication, with patients reporting prolonged waiting times to reach the practice and difficulty securing slots. Reception experience is mixed, with some patients praising courteous and helpful staff while others describe dismissive or unwelcoming interactions. Clinical care quality shows considerable variation, with several patients commending attentive and professional care, particularly in emergency situations, whilst others report inadequate clinical assessments, poor continuity of care, and insufficient engagement with patient concerns. Prescription processing delays and inconsistent service standards feature prominently across feedback.
Common frustrations include unresponsive telephone lines, lengthy waits for appointments that extend weeks ahead, and administrative barriers to accessing care. Some patients describe feeling their concerns were not properly heard during consultations, whilst others experienced excellent emergency response and follow-up support. A pattern emerges of inconsistent service quality depending on which clinician or reception staff member patients encounter, suggesting organisational challenges in maintaining uniform standards.
Positive experiences highlight the practice's ability to deliver prompt emergency care and attentive clinical support when patients do access appointments. However, the predominant concern centres on access barriers and communication difficulties that prevent patients from reaching the practice in the first instance, creating frustration particularly when health concerns require timely attention.

Excellent!
Reception staff are always pleasant and helpful
Our entire family has been receiving care at this practice for more than four decades, with the same clinician serving as our family doctor from the beginning. We remain very appreciative of the consistent quality of service we have experienced throughout this time, which continues to be the case. The reception team members are consistently courteous and supportive, as are the other staff members. I am particularly grateful for receiving a thorough and accurate assessment within a short timeframe regarding a health concern that had been affecting me for quite some time. I do not feel that the current average rating of 2.2 accurately represents the standard of care this practice actually delivers. Parking availability does present a genuine difficulty. Even during quieter periods at the practice, securing a space can prove challenging. It is possible that some individuals may be using the car park for purposes unrelated to the medical services or other facilities on site, though I may be mistaken about this. I would recommend arriving approximately 15 minutes early as you may need to park at an alternative location. The addition of more accessible parking spaces could be beneficial. This is an excellent practice, based on our extensive experience over the years.

Quick response through online messaging system
I utilised the online messaging system to request an appointment, which indicated a response time of 48 hours, with potential delays due to the bank holiday period. A member of the clinical team responded within a few hours and arranged an appointment for later that same day during my work lunch break. The service was genuinely impressive and I have no complaints about the experience.

Impossible to get an appointment here
Extremely disappointing. Securing an appointment at this practice is very difficult. Even when you do manage to get one, you may find yourself waiting in reception only to discover there has been a misunderstanding about your booking. If referrals are made to other services, there can be issues with those appointments materialising. It would seem you're left to hope that matters resolve themselves on their own.

Friendly reception made me feel welcome
I recently had a specialist appointment and found the reception staff to be very welcoming. The clinical team arrived promptly and were exceptionally friendly, putting me at ease throughout. The facility was clean and comfortable, and I'm delighted with my experience. During my time there, I observed other patients being treated with courtesy, and the overall atmosphere felt calm and pleasant. ☺️ Merry Christmas 🎅

Appointment booked for wrong date entirely
I arrived early in the morning to book a doctor's appointment and was given a slot for later that same day. I spent considerable time waiting in the reception area. When the receptionist checked my details, they indicated I would be seen shortly. After waiting further, I enquired about my appointment status and was told that while I did have an appointment scheduled, it had been arranged for several weeks ahead as a routine visit. Given that I had not attended the practice for a considerable period, I was surprised by this classification. Additionally, I was disappointed to learn that the appointment had been rescheduled without my prior knowledge or agreement, and without any discussion with the clinical team beforehand. I found this approach to managing my appointment unsatisfactory.

Poor!
Dismissed concerns despite repeated ambulance callouts
My partner has required ambulance transport to hospital on multiple occasions due to severe pain episodes. Despite these repeated incidents, the healthcare provider who conducted a home visit indicated that a specialist referral was not yet appropriate. It would be beneficial if the clinician could experience firsthand the severity of the situation during these episodes, rather than relying on daytime assessments, to better understand the urgency of the situation.

Reception queue made me miss my appointment slot
I had to leave work early to make it to my appointment at this practice and arrived within my scheduled time slot. However, I then waited over 10 minutes at reception while the staff member ahead of me was being attended to for what seemed like a considerable amount of time. When I eventually reached the desk, I was informed that I was now running late, which meant I was unable to book a follow-up appointment and was told to return to my usual practice to restart the booking process. I found this new system quite frustrating overall. I'm relieved that I'm not registered with that particular practice.

Physio dismissed my support during appointment
I attended a physiotherapy appointment with my husband today following his ongoing back pain, as he was unable to secure a GP appointment at that time. Given that he hadn't visited a healthcare provider in a decade, he felt anxious about the appointment. He also experiences difficulty expressing himself verbally and requested my presence to help communicate certain points on his behalf. During the consultation, when I began to contribute to the discussion, I was asked to be quiet using a dismissive hand gesture. I found this response upsetting and felt it was inappropriate, as I believed I was entitled to provide support and speak on his behalf during the appointment. The clinician had not taken time to understand my husband's communication needs before making this request. I remained silent for the remainder of the appointment. At the conclusion, the clinician asked if I had anything further to add, which felt contradictory given the earlier interaction. I felt the manner in which this was handled was disrespectful and lacked consideration for my husband's circumstances.

Repeated blood tests but still waiting for answers
I would rate this experience 1/10, with the only positive being the lovely and professional conduct of the nursing staff. I attended an appointment earlier in the summer and was advised to arrange a blood test. Following the initial test, I was called back for a repeat due to an issue with the sample collection. Since then, I have been repeatedly calling to obtain my results, only to be informed that the clinician has not yet reviewed them, and that urgent cases would be prioritised accordingly, with suggestions to call back later. Nearly a month has now passed, and I have been advised that the earliest available appointment is approximately two weeks away. This experience has felt unproductive, as my original symptoms remain unresolved and I have received no clarity on my situation. I can appreciate why some patients become discouraged with seeking medical care. The reception and clinical services fell short of my expectations, and I felt the overall approach lacked professionalism and compassion.

Appointment booking system let me down
Had a very difficult experience at this practice. I arrived for what I believed was a scheduled appointment, but was informed that no appointment could be found in their system and was asked to contact them the following day. When I called back the next morning, I was told that there were no available appointments. I found the overall handling of the situation to be unprofessional, and felt that the staff were unhelpful and dismissive.

Receptionist kindness couldn't overcome rushed appointment
The reception team were helpful the day before when we contacted them about running behind schedule due to unfamiliar surroundings and traffic delays. However, we were informed that we might not be seen as we were running approximately 12 minutes late. This was disappointing given the distance we had travelled, though we were offered an alternative appointment slot and appreciated the supportive attitude of the receptionist. During the consultation itself, the clinician asked a couple of questions before concluding the appointment. From drop-off to collection, the entire visit lasted around 16 minutes, which felt rushed and left me feeling that insufficient time and attention were given. My accompanying family member was upset by the experience, and I felt let down by the overall approach. The location is not easy to find if you are unfamiliar with the area, and navigation to the building itself can be challenging. Parking presents a significant difficulty due to the limited spaces available and the shared nature of the car park with other services. The single accessible parking space is insufficient for the clinic's needs, and locating a space can take considerable time. These practical issues added to the frustration of the visit.

Impossible to book appointments without calling at eight
Disappointing experience with appointment booking. When attempting to schedule a visit in advance, I was informed this wasn't possible and that I would need to call at 8am on the day of the appointment instead. However, when calling at that time, the phone lines were either unresponsive or there were no available slots. This approach to scheduling feels problematic. The team members I interacted with came across as dismissive and appeared indifferent to patient concerns. On another occasion, I had to make a call on behalf of a family member who was experiencing significant health worries. Unfortunately, they also faced the same barriers and didn't receive the attentive response their situation warranted. Overall, this has been among the most unsatisfactory healthcare experiences I've had.

Appointment system makes getting seen nearly impossible
The appointment system feels inadequate and difficult to access. After considerable effort in securing an appointment, my husband found the consultation frustrating. When he described his symptoms, he was asked to clarify what he hoped to achieve from the visit. Rather than addressing his concerns, he was referred for additional testing. This has resulted in needing to book yet another appointment to follow up. His original worries remain unresolved and his symptoms continue.

Long wait then felt unheard at appointment
It was disappointing to finally secure an appointment after such a lengthy wait, only to feel that my concerns were not fully heard during the consultation. Being advised to book another appointment felt frustrating given the considerable time it took to get the first one. I have also found that callback promises have not been consistently followed through. The practice does not feel as reliable as it once was, and this has led me to consider relocating my family's care elsewhere.

Couldn't get through on the phone line
Attempted multiple calls this morning over the course of nearly half an hour without successfully reaching the practice. What should have been a straightforward booking for a routine appointment has now become necessary to pursue through emergency channels instead. The telephone access system requires significant improvement.

Long wait times and difficult phone access
After spending a considerable amount of time attempting to reach the practice and eventually securing an appointment for my spouse, we attended only to experience a lengthy wait before being seen. This was quite disappointing. I would not recommend this surgery to others.
