Dismissive approach to patient concerns

It appears that the practice may not prioritize patient wellbeing as much as one might hope. When you contact them, they are frequently unavailable, which is understandable, but when you eventually receive a callback regarding an appointment request, the advice given seems inadequate and dismissive. The suggested treatment feels like a generic response followed by a quick end to the call, which is disappointing from a healthcare provider. It is understandable why patients might consider switching to a different practice.

Felt ignored when reaching out unwell

This practice was previously excellent, but something appears to have changed. On a second occasion, I felt dismissed when I reached out for support. It's disappointing when you're unwell and simply need to speak with someone who takes your concerns seriously.

Staff were helpful and genuinely supportive

I have consistently found the clinical team and support staff to be friendly and approachable. The care I have received has been of a high standard. The practice has also demonstrated considerable support and helpfulness when assisting with the healthcare needs of an older family member. Thank you.

Impossible to reach by phone for appointments

I have attempted to contact the practice on numerous occasions without success, as the phone lines remain unanswered for extended periods. Securing an appointment through this method has proven to be an extremely challenging experience.

If they find patient interaction challenging, they might consider roles that don't involve direct communication with the public.

Quick callback got us an urgent appointment

I recognise that securing appointments at most general practices is challenging in the current climate. When I attempted to book a routine appointment for my child, I was initially informed that the earliest available slot would be approximately two weeks away. Upon explaining that the matter was somewhat time-sensitive, I was advised to contact the practice again the following morning. When I called shortly after opening time, I was able to secure an appointment within the hour. I was pleasantly surprised by this outcome, and my child was able to see a qualified clinician, which felt like a fortunate occurrence given how difficult it can be to access such appointments nowadays.

I have a severe allergy and carry emergency medication, but the practice has been unable to help me dispose of my used medical supplies, which I find frustrating. I would not recommend this service based on my experience.

Long waits despite urgent hospital discharge

I experienced a lengthy wait of over 2.5 weeks to secure an appointment and was unable to obtain an emergency slot despite having a condition that warranted urgent attention. When I explained to the reception staff that I had recently been discharged from hospital with instructions to seek emergency care, this did not result in an expedited appointment being offered. The practice appears to perform poorly in national ratings, ranking in the bottom percentile of surgeries across the country, which seems to reflect the challenges I encountered with accessing timely care.

Receptionist's questioning made collection difficult

Visited the practice today so my daughter could pick up prescriptions for my grandsons, one aged 2 years old and the other 8 weeks old. The male receptionist came across as dismissive and unsympathetic, questioning my daughter about why she required further supplies of what had been prescribed the previous week. Given that basic usage would account for the need, I felt this line of questioning was unnecessary and outside his remit. The attitude displayed was disappointing, and whilst I suspect management may be aware of concerns based on other feedback, I believe intervention from senior leadership is warranted. In my opinion, staffing adjustments or additional training would be beneficial. Of the reception team, only two staff members appear to provide consistently good service, both female. Regarding today's visit, we arrived at 4:20 pm and didn't leave until 5:10 pm, despite the appointment being scheduled for 4:30 pm. This delay is frustrating when patients arriving late for their own appointments face cancellation, followed by the difficulty of getting through by phone and being told appointments are unavailable for weeks ahead. The overall experience suggests the practice requires significant improvement.

Phone lines consistently overwhelmed with long waits

I have not needed to contact the practice directly as I maintain good health. However, I am aware of numerous people who have attempted to secure appointments and have found the process quite challenging. Interestingly, before writing this review, I looked up the practice and noticed the public comments were very positive, which almost swayed my opinion. However, I questioned whether these comments were genuinely from former staff members or automated responses. It seems that when people do manage to call, they either experience long wait times with many rings before their call is answered, or they are offered appointments several weeks in the future from the date they actually reach someone.

The front desk team demonstrated a manner that felt unwelcoming and unhelpful. Their approach to patient interactions lacked warmth and understanding, which was particularly concerning when dealing with those who may have been in difficult circumstances.
