Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals a markedly mixed experience across appointment access, communication, and clinical care. Significant challenges persist with booking availability, where patients report difficulty securing appointments despite repeated attempts, alongside persistent phone line issues that prevent contact with the practice. Prescription processing delays and poor coordination between departments have emerged as recurring concerns, with some patients experiencing extended waits for medication refills and referrals. Reception staff professionalism varies considerably, with some patients describing unhelpful or discourteous interactions, while others praise warm and supportive service.

Conversely, clinical care receives consistent positive recognition, particularly regarding attentive listening, compassionate approaches, and professional expertise during consultations. Patients value the continuity of care when assigned to specific GPs and appreciate clear communication about treatment options. Blood draw services are frequently highlighted as efficient and comfortable, with staff demonstrating genuine courtesy and skill. The practice environment is described as welcoming by many, with supportive reception teams noted for their helpfulness during booking and medication requests.

The disparity between strong clinical interactions and systemic access challenges suggests that while individual practitioners and clinical staff deliver quality care, organisational processes around appointment scheduling, phone responsiveness, and interdepartmental coordination require significant improvement to meet patient expectations.

Poor!

Frustrating wait and poor communication

Why bother recruiting new patients when they can't even manage their existing long-term clientele? If you're experiencing medical issues, you should be discussing them directly with a physician, not getting stuck dealing with a front desk staff member. My frustration is complete, and I'm now searching for a different healthcare provider.

Caring doctors who've known me since childhood

I've been a patient at this general practice since birth, and now as a parent, my kids are also registered here. We consistently receive top-notch care, and the staff are always warm and welcoming. Every team member takes the time to listen carefully and clearly explain our medical concerns and potential solutions. If additional support is required, they ensure we're directed to the right resources. I've never felt neglected or unsupported during any of our visits.

Caring doctor who truly listened

I recently had the opportunity to consult with Anam for a medical consultation. She not only attentively listened to my health concerns but also meticulously broke down my test results in a way that made everything crystal clear and comprehensible. Anam demonstrated remarkable empathy. Her approach made it evident that she truly cared about my well-being, and I felt completely at ease throughout the appointment. Her sincere compassion and dedication to addressing every single one of my queries and uncertainties was truly appreciated.

Rundown surgery with terrible management

This medical practice has been consistently underperforming, and it deserves to be closed down. The surgery is managed by a prescribing pharmacist, and their entire operation is in complete disarray. If possible, I would have rated them zero stars. I strongly recommend that individuals avoid this dilapidated clinic if they have any concern for their personal or familial well-being. The management is utterly ineffective, perpetually unavailable whenever you attempt to communicate with them.

Quick and painless blood draw

Superb assistance - I managed to get my blood drawn at my local doctor's office, avoiding the lengthy wait at the hospital. The nurse was incredibly informative, clearly explaining the purpose of the tests and providing a timeline for my results. The blood draw was smooth and painless on the first attempt, which I greatly appreciated 😊

Frustrating knee referral mess after month-long wait

I've been dealing with a persistent knee issue for over a month, repeatedly seeking help without any resolution. My GP has been unhelpful, and when I questioned why I wasn't referred to a physiotherapist or seen by an MSK practitioner, I was constantly told a referral was submitted on 10.10.23 - which turned out to be false. The referral was actually sent back on 11.10.23 with no proper information, just "knee" noted. Despite multiple A&E visits mentioning patella bursitis, nothing progressed. After an 18.10.23 consultation with MSK's Shaista, I was given a number to call, but they claimed conflicting information about the referral. Every department I contacted seemed to contradict the others, making me appear uncoordinated. I couldn't self-refer and had to rely on my GP's actions. On 23.10.23, I requested a sick note and chased the referral that should have been processed when I first saw the GP in September. Despite taking medication for over a month with no improvement, I've had to push for physiotherapy myself. As of 27.10.23, the referral still wasn't completed. I've now logged an issue with NHS ICB and am considering changing practices. This experience has shown me their true inefficiency - the communication between departments is abysmal. I've been forced to chase every detail and even resort to private physiotherapy due to their mismanagement. I refuse to go through this ordeal again.

Prescription nightmare with endless waiting

Steer clear of this service. I submitted a straightforward prescription refill a week back and have received zero communication. When I tried calling during what they claim is their least busy period, I wasted an hour on hold before being abruptly disconnected. I attempted again early in the morning and found myself ninth in line.

Impossible to get a same-day appointment

AVOID REGISTERING WITH THIS SURGERY I was compelled to register here as it is the nearest to my home. The reception staff are discourteous, and securing a GP appointment is nearly impossible. They instruct you to call at 8:30am for same-day appointments, but with excessive patients and insufficient staff, the phone line is constantly engaged. I can't connect until after 9am, at which point they claim it's too late and direct me to call the next morning or appear in person at 8:30am. With children to get to school, this is completely unfeasible for me! An absolutely absurd surgery and staff who show no concern for patient well-being, instead cramming in as many people as possible without regard for proper medical attention. I genuinely worry for their elderly and vulnerable patients, as we all feel neglected by this practice. I am transferring my registration to a new surgery, and if I had a choice, I would never have left Crosslandmoor surgery, which was always exceptional. I was with them for 6 years and experienced no issues, but unfortunately moving out of the area forced this unwelcome change.

Terrible reception and impossible appointments

ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE OF A SURGERY!! I've been a patient here for years, and now it's become a completely unacceptable healthcare provider. The front desk staff are appallingly unprofessional, showing zero empathy or concern. Booking an appointment is a nightmare - you're forced to contact 111 just to get any attention, otherwise they'll completely disregard you indefinitely. I'm eagerly counting down the days until I can switch to a different medical practice.

Prescription nightmare at this terrible surgery

Completely TERRIBLE, the front desk and telephone staff have been dishonest with me for three consecutive days. I'm simply attempting to renew a prescription that was submitted to the clinic last Thursday, and I still haven't received it, which means it will be more than a week overdue. The staff desperately need proper training and must stop deceiving patients. I would never suggest this medical practice to anyone, especially since Dr. Das departed from the clinic.

Painless blood test with a friendly nurse

During my recent visit for routine blood work, I was thoroughly impressed by the nurse's exceptional demeanor. Not only was she incredibly courteous, but she also created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The blood draw itself was remarkably smooth and virtually painless - truly the most comfortable experience I've had to date. My sincere appreciation goes out to the healthcare professional who made this typically anxiety-inducing process so pleasant.
