Patient feedback for this practice reflects a deeply divided experience. Medical professionals, including physicians and nursing staff, consistently receive praise for their compassion, attentiveness, and thorough care. However, reception and administrative services present significant challenges that substantially impact patient satisfaction. Appointment access remains a persistent concern, with patients reporting difficulty booking slots, lengthy phone wait times, and a system requiring calls at 8am that excludes those with alternative commitments. Communication barriers are evident through reports of abrupt call disconnections, unhelpful responses, and dismissive attitudes from some reception staff.
While many patients describe welcoming and supportive front desk interactions, others report discourteous behaviour, condescending communication, and lack of responsiveness to patient needs. The contrast between positive experiences with clinical care and negative experiences with booking and reception services suggests inconsistency in service delivery across different staff members and locations. Several patients acknowledge systemic pressures affecting the practice, yet emphasise that professional courtesy during patient interactions should remain a priority, particularly when dealing with vulnerable individuals seeking healthcare.

Great doctors save the day from terrible receptionist
I've encountered some less-than-ideal interactions at this clinic, but they've all been linked to a single front desk staff member. My full 5-star rating is dedicated to the medical professionals, especially Dr. Thompson and Dr. Haroon Amed, who have recently impressed me. It's truly wonderful to be treated with genuine compassion and understanding. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Worst medical reception ever rude and unprofessional
The reception staff's service is utterly abysmal. They display zero compassion and complete disregard for patients' well-being. These receptionists deserve to be terminated - their professionalism is non-existent, and their hostility is apparent from the moment you interact with them. They speak in a condescending manner, looking down on patients with utter contempt. It's reprehensible. These individuals are interacting with sick and vulnerable people yet demonstrate absolutely no empathy whatsoever. Their behavior is totally unacceptable, and management must address this immediately. Rahila and Caroline - or whatever her name is - are incredibly discourteous. They carry themselves with an arrogant attitude as if they're running a major corporation when they're simply receptionists. The Asian receptionist, in particular, is shockingly arrogant and completely lacks basic manners. The behavior is appalling, and I wish I could do more than just leave this scathing review to express my disgust.

Terrible receptionists ruin this medical practice
My family has been loyal to this GP for generations, and we've observed a deterioration in staff quality. While the doctors seem acceptable, the receptionists are absolutely appalling. I'm at a loss for words to describe their abysmal attitude and demeanor. Initially unsure if this treatment was unique to my family, reading online reviews confirmed my suspicions. I was shocked to discover how terribly they treat vulnerable patients in desperate need. This morning at precisely 8:00, I was placed 23rd in the queue, which I initially didn't mind. However, I was met with an incredibly hostile reception. This isn't an isolated incident, but today was particularly egregious. The receptionist's tone was condescending, making me feel completely insignificant. At 8:00 AM, she seemed intent on confronting a seriously ill patient. Despite maintaining my composure, she appeared irritated by my illness. It's clear she despises her job, so why hasn't she resigned? This pattern of behavior isn't new - the Asian staff member is equally, if not more, discourteous. She's hung up on me multiple times when attempting to schedule an appointment. I'm utterly bewildered by their conduct. It feels like this GP is actively working against my family's survival. For two years, I've endured similar experiences, most traumatically when they repeatedly delayed appointments, ultimately contributing to my mother's preventable death. The General Practitioners Commission must intervene and replace these receptionists. They systematically dehumanize vulnerable patients, seemingly deriving pleasure from their cruelty. They need to understand their role: they're merely receptionists, not healthcare gatekeepers. Their behavior requires immediate scrutiny. Moreover, I sensed a discriminatory undertone in her communication, speaking to me as if I were linguistically challenged. If this continues, I'll have my sister pursue a formal discrimination complaint. If our medical needs are such an inconvenience, they're clearly in the wrong profession.

Frustrating and impossible healthcare experience
This medical practice is absolutely terrible! I consistently attempt to call precisely at 8am, but the waiting time is always excruciatingly long, often requiring around 60 minutes just to reach the reception desk. When they eventually answer or you're approximately fifth in the queue, they abruptly terminate the call. It's impossible to get through when you repeatedly redial. Even if you somehow manage to connect, there are invariably no available appointments. This frustrating pattern repeats itself every single day. As an additional note, I have yet to meet my assigned physician.

Frustrating healthcare experience with unhelpful staff
Whenever I attempt to schedule a consultation with my physician, I'm consistently informed that no appointments are accessible and booking is impossible. Despite experiencing significant discomfort, I'm hesitant to burden the emergency department. I'm completely uncertain about my next steps. Moreover, the reception staff are exceptionally discourteous, creating an extremely unwelcoming atmosphere during interactions.

Compassionate pharmacist saves the day for stressed family
A huge shout-out to Shannon! She was absolutely amazing and compassionate while helping me resolve my husband's medication issue tonight. Shannon truly went the extra mile to provide exceptional support during what was an emotionally challenging and anxiety-inducing circumstance. Immense gratitude!!....

Terrible healthcare nightmare at local medical practice
Terrible experience. The front desk staff are incredibly rude and unwelcoming, making it nearly impossible to schedule an appointment with a doctor when you're genuinely unwell. While the physicians themselves are competent, accessing their care is a nightmare. I've never been one to write reviews or lodge complaints, but I'm deeply disheartened by how this facility, and our once-respected National Health Service, has deteriorated into a shameful misuse of public funds. As a sardonic silver lining, I'm thinking of applying for a receptionist position there - they seem to thoroughly enjoy themselves! Apparently, it's perfectly acceptable to ignore ringing phones while leisurely chatting and enjoying a coffee!

Terrible service and impossible to get medical help
The absolute worst medical practice I've encountered. They appear to function by their own bizarre standards, completely divergent from other healthcare providers I've experienced. The front desk staff are utterly useless and incapable of addressing even the simplest inquiries. This entire facility desperately requires a comprehensive restructuring. It's truly disappointing because my physician is genuinely wonderful, yet it's practically impossible to connect with him or secure an appointment due to their abysmal communication and scheduling systems.

Terrible receptionists ruin an otherwise great medical experience
I've always had a great experience with the medical staff, but the front desk personnel are absolutely terrible. They frequently hang up on patients and, when you finally manage to connect with them, they communicate in an incredibly condescending manner. Their attitude is completely unacceptable.

Poor!
Terrible service from an unprofessional receptionist
The front desk staff's demeanor is completely unprofessional. I'm not expected to understand every procedural detail, yet their condescending communication makes me feel utterly incompetent. It's their fundamental responsibility to guide and inform guests, but instead they adopt a patronizing tone that suggests I'm somehow beneath them. Their arrogant attitude is unacceptable - if they can't provide courteous service, they should find another line of work. A receptionist's core duty is to be helpful and welcoming, which this individual clearly fails to comprehend.

Terrible service nightmare at woodlands medical centre
Edit 5/5/2023 I wasted an hour and a half attempting to obtain my blood test results, making three separate calls. During the first call, I was number 16 in the queue, the second time number 7, and the third time number 8. Each call abruptly disconnected, leaving me on a dead line and unceremoniously hung up. My criticism of this utterly chaotic system remains unchanged. People are literally dying out there!!! My original review. Getting through to them is nearly impossible, comparable to calling the police's non-emergency number. After moving from Dr. Sharma's practice at South Chadderton to Woodlands Medical, the service has deteriorated dramatically. They're scheduling appointments without my consent and then criticizing me for not attending, despite me never making these appointments. They lecture me about cancelling via text, seemingly oblivious that I rarely have time to check messages, and what about patients without mobile phones? They desperately need to improve their operations. Additionally, the Asian receptionist is incredibly rude and displays zero phone etiquette whatsoever...😱

Rude receptionist ruins patient experience at clinic
During my visit this morning, I observed a receptionist consistently treating patients with shocking disrespect. In a healthcare setting where individuals are often feeling fragile and seeking assistance, such unprofessional behavior is completely unacceptable. These patients are coming to seek medical help and deserve to be treated with dignity and compassion. I strongly urge management to address this issue and ensure their staff understand the importance of treating people with basic courtesy and empathy.
