I attended my annual checkup today and encountered a very friendly and approachable clinician who created a relaxed atmosphere with good humour throughout the appointment. This was exactly what I needed, particularly when receiving feedback about my blood pressure reading being slightly elevated.

Long phone queues and dismissive reception staff

Whenever I contact the practice by phone, I experience lengthy delays before reaching someone, and I have found some of the front desk team to be unhelpful and dismissive in their manner. The time spent waiting on hold is considerable and frustrating.

Reception staff made us feel unwelcome

The clinician attempted to contact us on multiple occasions, but we were unavailable each time as the matter required a private conversation. We visited the practice in person since we had recently registered and needed clarification on how things worked. The receptionist's manner was defensive and unhelpful, seeming anticipatory of conflict and showing reluctance to assist us. We felt dissatisfied with our experience and decided to register elsewhere. When we contacted the practice management to raise our concerns, they indicated they were aware of the interaction and disagreed with our perception of the receptionist's conduct.

Quick phone appointment sorted my urgent issue

Today I called on my way home from work hoping to get an emergency appointment, as I had been experiencing significant discomfort throughout the day. A telephone appointment was arranged and within 5 minutes I received a call back. I described my symptoms and was asked to attend the practice immediately. Within 45 minutes of making my initial call, I had been seen, examined and given a prescription. The service was excellent and I would highly recommend it. 5 stars.

Quick response when we needed help most

Called the Centre in the evening regarding a wound dressing issue on a family member's foot, with the next available appointment being a couple of days away. A clinical team arrived within twenty minutes, assessed the situation, cleaned the area, and applied a fresh dressing while also providing additional supplies for future use. I was impressed by how quickly they responded and the professional, meticulous manner in which they handled the situation. I am very grateful for their service.

Appointments available and staff genuinely compassionate

I am relocating away from the area and will therefore be leaving this practice. I wanted to share my feedback before I go, particularly as I recognise that most people tend to take the time to write reviews when they have complaints to make. My family have been attending this practice for approximately four years and have consistently had a positive experience. The team demonstrates genuine care, sound judgment, efficient organisation and impartiality. I have been especially impressed with how they work with younger patients. Appointments have consistently been accessible, including during the initial pandemic period. GPs have maintained their services throughout the health crisis despite what some media coverage might suggest. I have been able to access face-to-face consultations when required, and have also benefited from telephone appointments, which suited my circumstances better on certain occasions. The staff at this surgery are performing admirably within a system that faces significant resource constraints and operational pressures. I hope to locate a practice of similar quality in my new location. Thank you very much.
