Appointment access remains a persistent concern, with patients reporting lengthy waits to book consultations, extended phone queue times, and substantial delays between booking and attendance. Reception experience is notably polarised, with some patients praising courteous and supportive staff, whilst others describe dismissive, discourteous interactions and poor communication. Clinical care experiences vary considerably, with some patients expressing confidence in physician compassion and responsiveness, whilst others report feeling dismissed, disrespected, or receiving inadequate medical attention.
Key service issues include difficulty reaching the practice by phone, with callers frequently experiencing extended hold times and queue systems that fail to progress efficiently. Prescription management and communication between departments present recurring problems, with patients reporting delayed medication provision and poor coordination regarding referrals and follow-up care. Several patients noted that whilst individual staff members demonstrate exceptional kindness and professionalism, systemic pressures appear to affect overall service delivery.
Positive feedback highlights responsive care during urgent situations, supportive nursing staff, and instances of exceptional customer service from specific team members. However, these positive experiences are substantially outweighed by complaints regarding access barriers, appointment availability, and inconsistent professional conduct across the practice.

Heartless healthcare fails vulnerable elderly patient
Unable to reach them by phone, I opted to visit in person, thinking it would be faster. I requested the receptionist to have a nurse briefly examine my elderly mother's ears, as she had recently undergone syringing and was now experiencing pain with blood present. However, the nurse refused and suggested returning to the original provider. Frustrated, I mentioned I'd have to take her to a walk-in centre due to her discomfort. The receptionist seemed indifferent and essentially dismissed my concerns. We then endured a grueling 5-hour wait at the walk-in centre, where my suffering mother was diagnosed with an infection and prescribed antibiotics. It would have taken the nurse mere minutes to check her ears. What happened to genuine compassion and patient care? 😡

Smooth and speedy medical care with compassion
Exceptional customer care - initiated with a virtual consultation for my spouse, followed by a swift phone scheduling of an in-person visit. She was seen by a compassionate physician within a short timeframe, and the entire process was seamless.

Outdated doctors failing to provide modern medical care
Several physicians appear to be lagging in their medical expertise, seemingly unfamiliar with current pharmaceutical advancements. When I inquired about a specific medication, the doctor didn't even make an effort to research it. He simply declared no such treatment existed, and would have easily found information by checking the NHS website, which he neglected to do. His approach was curt and falls short of the professional standards expected today.

Terrible service and rude staff at this clinic
Extremely disappointing interaction with the front desk personnel, and the entire staff, from management to physicians. Their conduct was discourteous and entirely unacceptable. The level of professionalism was shockingly low.

Caring nurse nicola delivers exceptional patient care
I needed to obtain my blood test results and was assisted by Nicola, who was absolutely fantastic. She had to reach out to me for a follow-up, which she promptly did. I left the facility feeling completely satisfied - many thanks to Nicolax.

Frustrating phone wait at unresponsive medical practice
I've experienced the most frustrating phone wait times ever - I actually sat in my car, being told I'm second in line, only to enter the medical office and find the staff completely idle and not even on a call.

Unhelpful advice leads to medical confusion
I visited Wood Lane Doctors surgery and informed the receptionist that I suspected water had entered my left ear during swimming. I explained that my ear felt blocked and suggested the nurse might need to check it to prevent potential infection. The receptionist directed me to a local pharmacy, claiming they possessed the necessary equipment to inspect my ear. Approximately an hour later, the pharmacy contacted me to confirm they actually lack the capability to examine ears. This situation is deeply troubling, as the Wood Lane surgery receptionist appeared unaware that pharmacies are not equipped for ear examinations. I strongly believe the management at Wood Lane doctors surgery should be notified that their reception staff are providing incorrect and potentially misleading guidance to patients.

Terrible service at this frustrating establishment
Unhelpful employees consistently ignore customer concerns and seem more focused on avoiding interaction than providing assistance. Their attitude is dismissive, and they appear more interested in avoiding direct engagement than addressing any issues or requests.

Terrible healthcare service fails patients again
Terrible customer service strikes again. Spent a quarter-hour waiting first in line, only to be informed no appointments are available for a month, and was mockingly dismissed when requesting earlier availability. Suggested to call daily on the off-chance of a cancellation. Heaven forbid this involves a critical health situation like diabetes. I've truly experienced consistently poor treatment here for an extended period and am essentially forced to consider changing healthcare providers to receive any reasonable assistance.

Pregnant and Ignored: a healthcare horror story
I am utterly frustrated with the treatment I've experienced from my medical practice (a long-standing patient of 32 years). I reached out earlier today regarding what appears to be a serious chest infection, and being 28 weeks pregnant, my midwife advised consulting my GP about potentially needing antibiotics. Despite being first in the queue, I was left waiting on hold for more than 25 minutes! When I finally connected with staff, I was only offered an emergency telephone consultation at 6pm. Now it's 6:45pm, and I still haven't received the promised call from the doctor! The level of unprofessionalism and lack of care is absolutely unacceptable.

Unprofessional and frustrating healthcare customer service nightmare
The employees demonstrate a lack of professionalism and courtesy. When attempting to schedule an appointment via phone, I was left on hold for three-quarters of an hour. The receptionist who eventually answered appeared completely disinterested and irritable, curtly demanding "do you want to book an appointment or not". The NHS urgently needs to reevaluate their hiring practices and staff training. The reception staff's attitude was thoroughly unacceptable and left me feeling completely dissatisfied with the overall experience.

Booking nightmare at medical practice fails miserably
I tried scheduling a consultation for my elderly mother, who struggles with hearing loss, so I was helping her out. When I attempted to book online, the system malfunctioned and couldn't even process a standard postcode. Forced to switch to phone booking, I endured a series of pre-recorded medical announcements before being told I was 7th in the waiting line. Despite being promised someone would assist me "shortly", 20 minutes passed and my queue position remained unchanged. Ultimately, I hung up in frustration. I could easily launch into a comprehensive critique about the substandard treatment my mother has experienced at this medical practice since becoming a patient, but I'll restrain myself.

Costly medical exam leads to licensing nightmare
I am extremely dissatisfied with this medical practice. In late May, I visited to renew my heavy goods and taxi driver medical certification, which cost me £110, and the entire consultation lasted less than 10 minutes. The medical form was submitted to the DVLA, who subsequently rejected my license due to reported eyesight and blood pressure issues. The doctor recorded my blood pressure as dangerously high (216/185), suggesting I should have been immediately hospitalized. I proactively obtained an eye prescription from Boots to assist with form completion, yet the DVLA declared me unfit to drive because of incorrectly filled paperwork. The only saving grace was the incredibly helpful and supportive clerical staff, who went above and beyond to assist me. Without their support, I would have been completely lost. Despite their help, I am still without my license and feeling frustrated by the entire process.

Disorganized surgery causing patient frustration and anxiety
I'm penning this review on behalf of my partner Steve Pratt. He feels completely disappointed, exasperated, and furious about the inadequate support he's experiencing. The medical practice appears dysfunctional, chaotic, and thoroughly unprofessional. He endured a three-week wait for a telephone consultation, which was already unacceptable, but the situation worsened when the call came through - it rang briefly, not giving him enough time to answer before disconnecting, followed by a voicemail instructing him to contact the doctor. When he tried, he found himself eighth in the queue and after half an hour had made no progress, forcing him to give up. The entire experience is incredibly demoralizing and emotionally distressing, creating significant anxiety. Clearly, he urgently needs medical attention and wants to recover his health, and the potential long-term implications are deeply concerning. It's painful for me to witness his continuous suffering. We sincerely hope a doctor will reach out to Steve today, genuinely listen to his concerns, and provide appropriate guidance and support. If this doesn't happen, we will be compelled to file a formal complaint.

Unprofessional medical staff leaves patient feeling dismissed
These medical professionals are extremely discourteous. I consistently encounter the same physician, Dr. Weaver, during phone consultations, and she invariably makes me feel unwelcome and as though her primary goal is to terminate our conversation rapidly. Many of us are genuinely anxious about our medical outcomes, and the minimal expectation is that they would offer some supportive assistance. I am absolutely committed to filing a comprehensive complaint with PALS.
