Patient Experience Summary

Feedback reveals a practice with significant operational challenges and inconsistent service quality. Appointment access remains a persistent concern, with patients reporting lengthy waits to book consultations, extended phone queue times, and substantial delays between booking and attendance. Reception experience is notably polarised, with some patients praising courteous and supportive staff, whilst others describe dismissive, discourteous interactions and poor communication. Clinical care experiences vary considerably, with some patients expressing confidence in physician compassion and responsiveness, whilst others report feeling dismissed, disrespected, or receiving inadequate medical attention.

Key service issues include difficulty reaching the practice by phone, with callers frequently experiencing extended hold times and queue systems that fail to progress efficiently. Prescription management and communication between departments present recurring problems, with patients reporting delayed medication provision and poor coordination regarding referrals and follow-up care. Several patients noted that whilst individual staff members demonstrate exceptional kindness and professionalism, systemic pressures appear to affect overall service delivery.

Positive feedback highlights responsive care during urgent situations, supportive nursing staff, and instances of exceptional customer service from specific team members. However, these positive experiences are substantially outweighed by complaints regarding access barriers, appointment availability, and inconsistent professional conduct across the practice.

Heartless reception team fails pregnant patient

Two years on, and I'm still appalled by the shockingly callous attitude of the reception staff at this medical practice. At 35, nearly 36 weeks pregnant and having just relocated for my partner's work, I visited this surgery, conveniently located near my home. While I appreciate they might be busy, the reception area was empty, and the receptionist's demeanor was dismissive and cold. When I explained my situation, needing to register quickly to access midwife services, instead of offering guidance, she curtly stated they were busy and simply handed me a registration form. Upon returning the completed form, they refused to register me because my ID didn't match my new address, despite me presenting a utility bill. After wasting nearly a week attempting to obtain updated identification, I turned to Rosewood Medical Centre, who immediately connected me with a midwife, registered me effortlessly (accepting my utility bill without ID drama), and secured an appointment within a week - by which point I was 37 weeks pregnant. Woodlane Medical Centre unnecessarily added stress during my pregnancy's final weeks, seemingly motivated by pure indifference. Their approach was not just unhelpful, but potentially dangerous - if they couldn't register me, they should have been transparent about capacity or at least directed me to alternative midwife services, which they apparently knew nothing about (a concerning revelation in itself).

Terrible healthcare service that fails patient expectations

Scheduling an appointment took over four weeks, and the medical staff displayed a total lack of empathy, seeming disinterested in patient care. They were clearly eager to minimize interaction time, hurriedly dismissing me both on the phone and during the in-person consultation. When I inquired about a blood test for a separate health issue, I was curtly informed that my previous test from twelve months ago was sufficient, despite the potential need for updated diagnostics.

Incompetent care and dismissive staff at local practice

I abandoned this medical practice long ago after the doctor incorrectly diagnosed a fractured ankle as "developmental discomfort" and subsequently failed to recognize my father's heart attack, mistaking it for simple indigestion. Inexplicably, my dad continued to receive care from this practice. When I consulted the practice nurse regarding a matter concerning my father, she instructed me to visit the surgery and speak with reception. Upon doing so, the receptionist completely disregarded my concerns and made me feel as though she was performing an extraordinary act of generosity merely by acknowledging my presence. The reception staff used to be the sole redeeming quality of this medical center, but that is no longer the case.

Dismissive doctor fails to understand patient's needs

Dr. Weaver barely deserves a single star. Upon becoming a patient, they immediately scrutinized my medications, seemingly disregarding my complex medical history involving spinal complications and connective tissue disorder. They attempted to discontinue several of my prescriptions and even considered stopping my pain medication, despite chronic pain being a constant reality for me. My spine specialist had previously documented the necessity of pain management in correspondence with my prior physician, yet it appears Dr. Weaver didn't even review these critical medical records. I've now decided to avoid this doctor entirely and am actively seeking a more compassionate and attentive healthcare provider. Dr. Weaver's approach feels impersonal and dismissive, treating patients like mere numbers rather than unique individuals with specific medical needs.

Compassionate care versus dismissive medical judgment

I am deeply upset by the disrespectful treatment I experienced with Mrs Deshpande. When I sought an urgent post-surgery consultation with my regular physician being unavailable, my goal was to address my medical complications and seek guidance. Instead, Mrs Deshpande fixated on discussing my medication list. She criticized my use of muscle relaxants for bladder issues, prescribed by my urologist during a 15-year treatment, claiming that at 25, I am too young for such medication. She attempted to undermine my specialist's recommendations, warning me that these pills would lead to dementia. Her remarks were profoundly insulting, suggesting I am too young to have legitimate medical concerns. Moreover, she offered no constructive solutions to my problem. Her approach was entirely unprofessional, and I strongly caution anyone in their twenties against consulting this physician. In stark contrast, Mrs Weaver is an exceptional medical professional. She ranks among the finest doctors I have ever encountered. Her approach consistently prioritizes providing comprehensive support with remarkable sensitivity and without judgment. Mrs Weaver embodies genuine compassion and demonstrates a profound commitment to her patients' well-being. I will forever appreciate her outstanding care and support.

Friendly care and warmth at your local surgery

I've been with this medical practice for a short three-month period, and I'm thoroughly impressed with every interaction so far. The front desk team consistently demonstrates professionalism and a helpful attitude. I was already familiar with Sister Sharon from my previous healthcare provider, which was a pleasant connection. Today, I had the opportunity to work with a different nurse who was exceptionally kind and made me feel completely relaxed during my visit. I want to extend my sincere appreciation to the entire team and encourage them to maintain their outstanding level of care. Kudos to all! Michelle P

Woodland medical centre saves the day

Couldn't find any issues with Woodland Medical Centre. I had a scheduled appointment towards the month's end, but urgently needed to see a doctor. Fortunately, I visited the surgery to inquire about an earlier slot and was successfully accommodated with a morning appointment. I'm truly appreciative of the helpful reception team and physicians at Woodlane.

Frustrating wait times ruin patient experience

I've been a loyal patient at this practice for more than a decade, typically only visiting when absolutely necessary - my last appointment was almost two years ago. When I needed to schedule a consultation, I had to endure a wait of over three and a half weeks. Upon arriving with ample time to spare, I still found myself sitting in the waiting room for over 40 minutes before being called. Not only did I have to wait weeks for an appointment, but I also unnecessarily left work early only to be further delayed and inconvenienced. Completely unacceptable, avoid this clinic at all costs
