As a support worker accompanying an individual with severe anxiety to a medical consultation at Woodseats medical centre, I experienced exceptional compassion from the staff. When my service user became visibly distressed, I requested a calmer environment. The receptionist quickly and thoughtfully located a tranquil area for us, and the physician saw us without delay. Endless wait for my own medical records

I would assign zero stars if possible, but the rating system won't let me. I've been attempting to retrieve my medical records since last year following a car accident, which my insurance company needs to process the remainder of my claim. I was initially sent a consent form to authorize their access. After approximately a month, my insurance reported they still couldn't obtain the records, so I completed another identical form. Another month passed with the same result. Frustrated, I tried emailing to request the records directly, but the provided link was non-functional. Subsequently, I was given login credentials for the practice's website. Upon creating an account, I discovered I must separately request access to my own medical records - on my own account! I naively hoped they might approve the request quickly, but no such luck. I've spent days calling after work, enduring repetitive COVID announcements and irritating classical hold music. I expect my request to be approved tomorrow, or I'll be completely bewildered about their daily operations. I'm absolutely switching medical practices after obtaining my records, though at this rate I'll probably be middle-aged first. What should be a straightforward one-day process has inexplicably dragged on for four or five months with no end in sight.

Endless redials for a simple doctor's visit

The appointment scheduling process is absolutely absurd. It's incomprehensible why they refuse to allow booking via phone or in-person for upcoming weeks, instead forcing patients to repeatedly dial on the same day. I spent an exhausting hour hammering redial—160 times, no exaggeration—and still couldn't connect. Even if you miraculously get through, you're then left waiting for the doctor to return your call and potentially schedule an appointment. The entire system is ridiculously convoluted and time-consuming. Who has the luxury of sitting around endlessly redialing and then waiting for a callback? This approach desperately needs an overhaul to streamline appointment booking. I wonder if anyone at the medical centre actually reads these critiques or if they're simply indifferent to patients' frustrations.

Mastitis rescue at lunchtime

Since relocating from Sloan last year, I've discovered Woodseats to be exceptional. I appreciate their triage approach when scheduling doctor consultations by phone. The only suggestion for improvement would be implementing a proper waiting queue system, as currently one might need to redial over 100 times and repeatedly encounter a busy signal. A proper queuing mechanism would be far more convenient. That minor point aside, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. Every physician I've encountered has been excellent. Recently, when I developed mastitis and called during lunchtime, a doctor returned my call within 30 minutes, urgently instructing me to come in. I was seen within another half hour by an incredibly compassionate and caring professional - a standard that seems consistent across all doctors at Woodseats so far.
