Feedback reveals a practice with a stark divide between clinical and administrative experiences. Medical professionals are consistently described as competent, empathetic, and supportive, with patients appreciating attentive listening and thorough consultations. However, this positive assessment is heavily overshadowed by severe access challenges. Appointment booking presents the most significant barrier, with patients reporting difficulty reaching the practice by phone, perpetually busy lines, and a same-day appointment system that forces high call volumes at 8am. Reception experience frustration is widespread, with complaints about staff indifference, poor communication, and lengthy waiting times both on the telephone and in person. Long delays between booking and consultation, cancelled appointments without notification, and unresponsive telephone systems are recurring themes. Several patients report being unable to access care entirely, with some experiencing health deterioration as a result. While some long-term patients acknowledge the practice's efforts and appreciate the medical care once accessed, the overwhelming pattern across reviews indicates that appointment availability and booking experience remain critical barriers to service delivery.
Beyond access issues, feedback highlights concerns about continuity of care, with patients noting frequent physician rotation and inconsistent approaches to treatment. Communication gaps extend to administrative processes, including prescription handling, medical records requests, and vaccine availability. A minority of reviews acknowledge the practice's challenges are not unique and express appreciation for NHS services despite limitations, but the majority emphasise that current systems are inadequate and require significant improvement to meet patient needs.

Bad!
Frustrating and inefficient appointment scheduling nightmare
Attempting to schedule an appointment here was an exercise in frustration. I called this morning and was immediately confronted with a queue of over 30 people. After requesting a callback, I was dismissively informed that no slots were available and was advised to try again tomorrow. The staff made no effort to understand the urgency or reason behind my appointment request, and the waiting list remained overwhelmingly long, leaving me completely unhelped and exasperated.

Bad!
Nightmare queue for simple blood test results
My daughter showed up at 7:45am on Wednesday 11/06/25 to begin waiting in line. She was the 8th person in the queue, which felt incredibly frustrating and absurd - being forced to wait like livestock just to receive blood test results! They had instructed her to call at 8am the previous day (what an absolute mockery, as it's essentially impossible to get through, and even if you do manage to connect, all available slots are already taken). The lack of an NHS app for booking appointments demonstrates an embarrassingly antiquated system, and the receptionist's only response was a sympathetic but ultimately unhelpful acknowledgment of her frustration. At least, as a small consolation, the morning was bright and sunny, rather than wet and miserable...

Terrible healthcare experience for disabled patient
I absolutely regret attempting to register with this practice - they are completely inaccessible for individuals with disabilities. They rejected my application claiming I live too far away, despite the location being conveniently close to my caregivers and not actually that distant. Unlike other medical practices where you can simply complete a distance waiver form, this place offered no such flexibility. The result is devastating: I've been left without a general practitioner and critically, without my essential medication. After initially appearing to accept my registration through my previous GP, they suddenly backtracked weeks later, informing me I cannot be their patient. This has left me in an impossible situation, unable to access healthcare and desperately searching for a new GP while my medical needs remain unaddressed. Their lack of compassion and poor communication has directly impacted my health and wellbeing.

Frustrating healthcare experience with countless obstacles
I called precisely at 8 AM this morning and spent nearly 5 minutes frantically redialing as I was repeatedly informed they were closed. When I finally got through at 8:17, I discovered I was the 14th caller - absolutely ridiculous! I'm incredibly frustrated. Moreover, I've been desperately requesting anxiety medication and have been consistently denied because I'm "underage," yet simultaneously told that waiting for CAMHS is pointless as I'll likely be 18 before getting off their waitlist. Frustratingly, I know several individuals younger than me who have already been prescribed similar medications. Additionally, I've been on birth control for over a year and a half and have never once been called in for a blood pressure check. Furthermore, when I went to collect a prescription from the pharmacy that was ordered a week ago, I was informed it had been ordered but not yet transferred to the chemist - what a complete mess!

Frustrating customer service that left me unheard
Regrettably, I must modify my previous assessment. Today, I experienced profound frustration after enduring a 25-person telephone queue, only to be dismissively advised to visit a local pharmacy. I felt entirely unacknowledged, and the representative repeatedly requested me to restate my concerns, appearing utterly disengaged and indifferent.

Absolutely appalling customer support. They're completely unhelpful and scheduling an appointment is virtually unattainable.

Terrible medical practice with zero patient compassion
I am utterly frustrated with the medical service at this clinic. The constant rotation of physicians means patients never receive continuous, personalized healthcare. Every doctor seems to have a conflicting perspective, and it appears that genuine listening and thorough attention to patient concerns are completely absent. Scheduling an appointment is a nightmare, and even when you manage to secure one, you're either quickly brushed off without adequate medical attention or essentially abandoned to handle potentially serious health issues independently. The complete absence of consistent care and genuine patient support is truly appalling, leaving individuals feeling vulnerable and entirely neglected. This standard of medical treatment falls far below any reasonable expectation of healthcare.

Frustrating and unhelpful medical center experience
The service was absolutely abysmal! I spent countless attempts trying to schedule an appointment, but each time I was dismissed with the infuriating instruction, "You must arrive at 7 am to book." This approach is completely unacceptable! Unlike other medical facilities, they offer no flexibility for booking appointments on different days. The staff appears completely incompetent, constantly scurrying around to seek guidance from others. It seems their entire repertoire of knowledge is limited to the single phrase, "Come at 7 am tomorrow morning." As a result, I've transferred my medical care to a different practice and will actively discourage anyone from considering this medical center. Their customer service is so poor that it deserves a rating far below zero. Rating -10000/100

Bad!
Terrible medical care and dismissive doctors nightmare
The experience was utterly disappointing. The medical professionals displayed a total absence of comprehension. Their sole response to my concerns was a dismissive "no," "you don't need it," and "everything is fine." When I requested glucose test strips, the doctor insisted they were unnecessary. Despite being diabetic for four years and experiencing worsening symptoms, I'm apparently in perfect health. It's absolutely absurd. I'm genuinely curious about what disease prevention looks like at Woodside Medical Center, given their stance that I don't require essential tools for monitoring my health condition.

Great experience with compassionate medical care
I consulted Wed's medical team recently, and the physician was exceptionally personable, dedicating more than 10 minutes to carefully examining my medical situation.

Great!
Frustrating booking but decent medical care overall
To secure a consultation, you'll need to line up at the crack of dawn or bombard their phone lines starting at 8am. This seems to be a widespread challenge currently, though not unique to this practice. Despite this inconvenience, I've generally found the doctors to be competent and helpful.

Bad!
Worst medical service ever experienced by a patient
If you're considering becoming a patient here, take my advice and steer clear... this place is absolutely ridiculous. I submit my repeat prescription every single Monday for Thursday morning pickup, and yet again, it's not ready. I've repeatedly stressed the urgency of my anti-psychotic medication, and they claim it's HIGH PRIORITY. When I called back 90 minutes later, I was told high priority can take 24 hours and was rudely warned not to argue - which I wasn't even doing. I explained how this has been happening weekly, and when I suggested it might be the doctors' fault, I was told it's somehow my fault. This is hands-down the worst medical service I've ever experienced. The last time I was here 6-7 years ago, Dr. Vidya prescribed ear drops for an infection that gave me tinnitus in my right ear - I've had constant ringing ever since, which is why I try to avoid this clinic. No wonder their reviews are a mere 2.1. Stay away!!!!!

Bad!
Worst medical practice ever with zero customer service
Securing a medical consultation here is virtually impossible without physically showing up. Their telephone support is completely ineffective, with calls perpetually unanswered - you'd have better odds winning a massive lottery than reaching someone. There's no digital booking system, so working professionals must sacrifice an entire day just to interact with reception staff. Even after investing that time, there's no assurance of actually seeing a doctor. Inexplicably, they refuse to schedule appointments for the immediate next day, displaying a frustratingly rigid approach. Their dysfunctional system inevitably drives patients to emergency departments for non-urgent issues, creating unnecessary strain on hospital resources. These healthcare providers desperately need to modernize and improve their patient access protocols.

Misleading hours and frustrating customer service experience
I'm perplexed by their claim of opening at 8am when their actual service lines don't become available until 9am. Customers arrive early expecting to schedule appointments, only to find themselves waiting and unable to see a professional.

Worst medical practice ever avoid at all costs
A general practitioner that ranks among the most ineffective I've encountered. Scheduling an appointment is practically unattainable, and even when attempting to contact the office for other matters, you'll find yourself trapped on hold for over 20 minutes before reaching anyone.

Frustrating administrative chaos at local gp surgery
The medical staff, including nurses and doctors, are incredibly welcoming and friendly once you meet them, but the administrative team appears remarkably unprepared. I've been attempting to obtain my medical records this week, specifically my test results. The NHS website indicates that with an NHS account, you must request online access to your full record from your GP surgery, otherwise you'll only see medications and allergies. I called on Tuesday, and after being passed around, someone suggested I visit in person with ID to receive an access code from the receptionist. When I arrived Thursday, the receptionist kept retreating to the back room for guidance and ultimately stated, 'We'll investigate and respond.' Even when I inquired about timelines and holiday hours, their response remained frustratingly vague: 'we'll contact you'. Truly informative... I called again Friday, hoping to find someone knowledgeable. This time, I was told to complete a form and might receive a printed version after approximately 28 days! I'm perplexed how they can instantly access my records but require a month to press the print button. Moreover, receiving three completely contradictory explanations from three staff members in the same small surgery about a straightforward request is nothing short of remarkable.

Excellent healthcare with caring and responsive staff
I've been a patient here for decades, and the team is absolutely fantastic. Not once have I encountered any issues with the personnel. Previously, telephone communication was challenging, but since the introduction of Patchs, I now handle most matters through that platform. In situations where I've been truly stuck or faced an urgent matter, I've been assisted with remarkable speed and efficiency. The staff are completely beyond reproach.

Terrible service and unhelpful medical staff
I reached out to schedule a consultation on Monday, having not required medical services for quite some time. The front desk staff was incredibly unaccommodating. I was unable to secure an appointment and cannot make calls at 8am due to work commitments. After much back and forth, they eventually arranged a Saturday morning slot at an alternate clinic. Upon arriving at the alternative location this morning, I was informed that Woodside had unilaterally cancelled my appointment without notifying me. How can such unprofessional behavior be considered acceptable? It seems like a cruel and deliberate attempt to frustrate patients. To make matters worse, there's no clear avenue for lodging a complaint on their website.
