Called early in the morning to request an appointment and was informed that the earliest available slot was approximately two weeks away. During this same call, the receptionist advised that phoning at that time of day was necessary to secure an appointment. The service felt ineffective.

Reception staff put me at ease immediately

When I arrived at the surgery today, I was feeling quite anxious and concerned. I was seen by a lovely clinician who managed to calm my worries and reassure me that things would be fine. She was incredibly helpful and comprehensive in her approach, which stood out compared to some of the other practitioners I have encountered previously. I was pleasantly surprised to learn she is still in training and will only be at the practice for a limited time, but I will certainly be trying to book appointments with her during her time there.

This surgery has been absolutely wonderful, and I have consistently had a positive experience throughout my time as a patient. The clinical staff demonstrate a genuine willingness to listen carefully to concerns before determining the best course of action. I have not encountered any problems during my years of using this practice and have remained a loyal patient since 2011.

Early morning phone booking system feels frustrating

The requirement to call at 8am to book an appointment can feel like a tedious process. If that's the only way available, then it's something you have to work with. As someone who hadn't visited the surgery in person since 2017, I wasn't familiar with the different phone times for different types of requests, so I was corrected a couple of times and advised that I shouldn't have been calling at 8am for certain matters like requesting a sick certificate. Setting aside the procedural aspects, I was seen on both occasions by two considerate clinicians who were genuinely attentive and listened carefully without making me feel pressured. This was a really positive experience and helped me feel at ease, particularly as someone who doesn't approach medical appointments casually. Given that I hadn't sought medical attention since 2017, this made a real difference. I was very impressed with the care I received on both visits.

I would like to express my gratitude to the clinician at the practice who has provided me with care over the past couple of years. I underwent treatment for a serious health condition in 2022 which involved multiple therapeutic interventions. I am pleased to report that my progress has been positive. Throughout this time, the clinician has consistently made effort during both telephone and in-person consultations to understand my situation thoroughly in order to provide appropriate assessment and care. This clinician demonstrates excellent clinical knowledge and a genuinely compassionate approach, with a warm and professional manner. The practice and its patients are fortunate to have such dedicated staff. I would also like to thank the reception team, who have consistently been courteous, helpful, and committed to assisting patients. The entire team is doing excellent work and deserves recognition for their efforts.

Unfortunately, the front desk team can sometimes appear unwelcoming and curt in their interactions, which detracts from the overall experience even when greeted warmly. This is a shame as it impacts the impression of the practice.
