Scheduling an appointment is extremely challenging, and the communication breakdown has been frustrating. My doctor mentioned a biopsy referral but then departed for vacation, leaving me hanging for a fortnight with no progress. The lack of responsiveness is deeply concerning and demonstrates a complete absence of patient care. *UPDATE*. Another two weeks pass, and still no resolution. I've been stuck on hold for nearly three-quarters of an hour trying to reach a receptionist, with absolutely no success. The service quality is abysmal, and I am preparing to file a formal complaint with the regulatory body.

Terrible medical practice with zero patient care

I've reluctantly been visiting this medical practice for several years, and their service has progressively deteriorated, particularly in the past two years. Waiting 45 to 60 minutes for an appointment only to be informed no slots are available is frustrating. They consistently fail to forward prescriptions to pharmacies despite claiming they will. The misinformation on my son's school allergy management plan is unacceptable and potentially dangerous. I've attempted to address these issues directly with the practice manager, but no meaningful changes have occurred. The reception staff display an attitude of superiority, acting as though assisting patients is an inconvenience. I strongly advise potential patients to steer clear of this practice. Their performance is entirely unacceptable and warrants a formal complaint to the Care Quality Commission.

I'm forced to rate this medical practice with the bare minimum star rating due to their incompetence. Repeatedly, they've failed to forward my prescription to the pharmacy, causing significant delays in my medication access. In one particularly frustrating incident, the doctor neglected to sign my x-ray referral, compelling me to return to the clinic just to obtain the necessary signature. Their communication is abysmal - they never proactively respond to critical issues, and when you attempt to contact them, you're left waiting on hold for around 30 minutes. I sincerely hope someone investigates this practice, as they'll likely try to blame COVID-19 for their poor performance. It's no mystery why they've accumulated so many negative reviews.

Frustrating nightmare of trying to reach my gp

I attempted to contact my general practitioner yesterday and was instructed to call at 8 am this morning. Despite making 28 separate attempts, the line remains perpetually busy. The answering machine is not activated, eliminating any possibility of queuing. This medical practice is completely disconnected from patient needs and seems oblivious to the challenges faced by ill individuals trying to reach them. My recommendation is that if these communication barriers persist, patients should proceed to the Accident and Emergency department and document the absolute impossibility of contacting their GP. I am now actively exploring an advisory service to whom I can formally lodge my substantial concerns.

Worst medical experience ever nightmare appointments

I've been attempting to secure an appointment for three consecutive days, forcing me to wake up at 8am daily. Each time I call, they apologize and claim no appointments are available, instructing me to try again the next morning. This cycle continues, making it the most frustrating medical experience I've encountered. The staff is incredibly unprofessional, with some seemingly unable to communicate effectively with patients. If they cannot provide proper assistance, they should simply shut down the practice. There are people desperately needing medical help, and this approach is unacceptable. Taking my medications already makes it challenging to rise early every morning for a single appointment. The booking process feels as complicated as scheduling time with royalty. It's ridiculous. They desperately need to hire professional staff who can communicate clearly and courteously with patients, instead of abruptly ending calls and providing no real solution.

Terrible reception ruins great doctors experience

I am a registered patient at York surgery, and while the doctors are genuinely kind, polite, and supportive, the receptionist staff is incredibly ineffective and indifferent. I cannot comprehend why they always seem eager to cut phone conversations short and abruptly dismiss patients, either by quickly hanging up or metaphorically shutting the door in your face when you're waiting in line. As is common during the COVID-19 pandemic, GP surgeries require patients to wait outside and be attended to externally unless they have a scheduled appointment. The receptionists consistently make patients wait endlessly on phone lines and in queues. If they are experiencing staff shortages, they should simply recruit more personnel - specifically, staff members who possess basic courtesy and are willing to listen attentively until a patient completes their explanation, rather than rushing to dispatch people as quickly as possible. The only reason this surgery retains any patients is because of the excellent doctors. If the entire staff mirrored the receptionists' attitude, I'm certain no one would choose to remain with their practice.
