AI receptionist system leaves patients frustrated and unheard

The automated receptionist system has proven problematic. Previously, it was possible to speak with staff members who could provide assistance and comprehension, whereas now interactions involve an automated system that repeats scripted responses and follows predetermined protocols. When queries fall outside its capabilities, it cycles through standard phrases such as "I'm sorry I don't understand the question" and "I understand this is frustrating" repeatedly in a manner that feels impersonal. The experience creates a frustrating sense of being caught in bureaucratic processes without meaningful resolution. The practice's social media communications present the system positively whilst restricting user comments on posts, which appears inconsistent with transparent communication. This concern is not simply about adjusting to new processes, but rather reflects that the current technology being implemented appears insufficient for the demands of the role it has been assigned to perform at the practice.
