Appointment system leaves elderly patients struggling

I have been a patient at this practice for many years and have noticed a significant decline in the service provided. Appointment availability appears extremely limited, with the booking system often showing no slots available shortly after opening, leaving patients with lengthy waiting lists. The current system seems poorly designed for older patients, and the overall experience of attempting to access medical consultation when unwell is deeply frustrating. It is understandable that emergency departments experience high demand, as patients may resort to attending there when they are unable to obtain timely GP appointments or when their health concerns have worsened due to delays in care. The practice would benefit from urgent improvements to its appointment and access systems.
