Autism support mixed with compassionate medical care

When you consult the right medical professional, things can go smoothly and you'll be directed appropriately. However, sometimes the system can be frustrating. The staff's lack of understanding about Autism led to my autistic child waiting 1 hour and 10 minutes in December 2016 for an asthma check-up, which was subsequently cancelled and rescheduled without notifying me, despite having a card with the original appointment details from reception. No apology was offered by the reception staff, but asthma specialist Nicola was extremely apologetic and made a new appointment in January, as my son was incredibly stressed and agitated, even knocking a computer off the desk. The scheduling was a complete nightmare. On a positive note, all the nurses were incredibly kind and helpful.
