Bed-bound and Dismissed at Local GP Practice

I've endured multiple unsatisfactory encounters at this medical practice, and I remain deeply dismayed by the substandard care provided. Firstly, the reception staff lack proper medical training. They are unqualified to redirect patients to a pharmacist when someone seeks a GP consultation. The triage system should serve as guidance, not replace fundamental medical judgment. Patients should not be compelled to disclose their entire medical history, nor should staff act as gatekeepers determining our eligibility for an appointment. Moreover, the doctors' performance is unacceptable, demonstrating a complete absence of professional responsibility. They've eliminated face-to-face consultations, instead attempting diagnoses through brief telephone conversations without conducting any examinations. Their apparent strategy seems to be redirecting complex cases to A+E once a patient's condition significantly worsens. In my specific situation, I was given an ultimatum of arriving within ten minutes or waiting two days, despite explaining I'd been bedridden for several days. The dehumanizing nature of this service is profoundly distressing. Would these professionals be content if their own family members received such treatment? I'm particularly concerned about the practice's most vulnerable patients - the elderly and non-English speakers - who are experiencing this deplorable level of care. I strongly recommend that dissatisfied patients request the formal complaints procedure from reception and meticulously document their experiences. The NHS ombudsman remains an additional avenue for addressing these serious concerns.
