Cannot Get An Appointment to see the GP - Cancer Pathway

It’s unfortunate that this surgery only operates through an electronic booking system. To get an appointment, you must log in to Anima at 7:00 AM. However, by 7:17 AM, all booking slots for the entire day are taken, forcing you to try again the next day. What makes this method dangerous is that the system cannot distinguish between patients with minor issues, like a cold, and those with serious needs, such as a genuine appointment for cancer. The system works on a first come first serve system and not on priority. Calling the surgery and speaking with the reception team is not helpful, as they are all trained to repeat the same message: you must use Anima to book your GP appointment. My job as a carer does not allow me the luxury of logging in at 7:00 AM, as this is my busiest time of day supporting vulnerable adults. Additionally, you cannot call the surgery at that time because the telephone lines are not available until after 8:00 AM. How does someone struggling with a life-threatening condition actually get an appointment with the GP handling their case when the system they use to see patients prehibits you from getting a booking or when the reception team are not willing to even pass a message to the GP? I would not recommend this surgery based on the poorly managed booking system and lack of human contact.
