Caring receptionist saves the day for frustrated patient

I wanted to commend Patricia, the receptionist, with a 5-star rating for her exceptional service, warmth, and kindness. Thank you so much for being supportive, responsive, and helpful during our interaction. However, I must reluctantly award only one star to the GP. Here's why: I tested positive for COVID in January. As a team leader in a London supermarket, I've been extremely cautious since the pandemic began. I diligently self-isolated for two weeks. Concerned about my chest, I sought an appointment to ensure my health, as I was experiencing intense chest pain. Surprisingly, it took a week before anyone contacted me, and I had to persistently advocate for a blood test and chest x-ray. The doctor dismissively claimed that due to my youth, nothing would be detected. I responded, hoping she would be proven correct. Having resided in the UK for a decade, I've never been ill or required medical attention. I've worked hard, paid my taxes, and deserved a thorough health assessment. Physicians should proactively examine patients' conditions, not wait for patients to demand checks. My anxiety stems from potential long-term health implications. While I understand doctors are overwhelmed, comprehensive patient care is crucial to prevent future complications. Melissa
