Clinic concerns: Privacy, results, and appointments

Obtaining an appointment has become increasingly challenging, a widespread issue these days. Recently, I phoned to inquire about blood test results from a fortnight ago, only to be informed by the receptionist that I needed to be added to the doctors' results list. This struck me as peculiar, as I hadn't encountered such a process in previous blood work appointments. It raises concerns about whether I would have been notified about my ongoing six-month investigation without my proactive follow-up. The new policy allowing reception staff to inquire about personal information is problematic due to the lack of privacy in the waiting area. Discussing sensitive matters in close proximity to other patients feels invasive and compromises confidentiality. Overhearing such conversations is unavoidable and highly inappropriate. On a positive note, my experiences with punctuality have generally been satisfactory, with appointments typically starting on time or with minimal delay. The receptionists maintain a friendly demeanor, and most healthcare professionals have been pleasant, barring one dismissive encounter years ago. I was particularly impressed by a young, dark-haired phlebotomist with dark skin who recently took my blood. Her professionalism and patience were commendable, especially given the difficulty in drawing blood from me, which likely caused delays in her schedule.
