Communication breakdown delayed urgent medication

My husband is a patient at this practice. He has been waiting nearly two weeks for a new medication that was recommended following a specialist telephone consultation. When he collected his prescription yesterday, the new medication was not included. After contacting the surgery, he was informed that the specialist's communication had arrived after the routine prescription had already been processed. The surgery indicated that a clinician would call him yesterday to arrange the new prescription for the same day. This call did not take place. He made another attempt to reach the practice and was again assured that a clinician would contact him. The call never came, and he did not receive the new medication. He requires these tablets urgently, and the two week delay is deeply frustrating. The service provided has been disappointing.
