I wanted to share my positive experience with my GP practice today, which was outstanding in numerous ways. We constantly hear about NHS shortcomings and primary care's inefficiencies, but today was different. I contacted the surgery this morning and, after a brief wait in the call queue (typical for 8am on a Monday), was advised to visit between 9-11, with a heads-up about potential busyness. Prepared, I brought a book to pass the time. I waited approximately 40 minutes, which didn't bother me since I was there for a genuinely important health concern. Dr. Y Kletta was exceptional - he listened carefully as I explained my issue, took a comprehensive medical history, performed a thorough examination, and immediately ordered urgent blood tests. He was incredibly professional, walking me through each step of the process and remaining compassionate even when I became emotional. He skillfully answered my questions and provided reassuring guidance. Later that same afternoon, he texted me an update on my blood work and scheduled a follow-up. His approach was remarkable - consistently calm, caring, thoughtful, and supportive throughout our entire interaction. Oaktree Surgery, and Dr. Kletta in particular, transformed what could have been a frightening day into a manageable experience. Immense gratitude for their dedication during these challenging times.
