Couldn't get through on the phone line

I called at 8:30 in the morning to inform the practice of unforeseen circumstances that would make me approximately 10 minutes late for my scheduled appointment at 10:30. Unfortunately, the phone lines were busy both times I attempted to reach them. When I arrived at 10:38, I explained the situation to the receptionist, who offered to notify the clinician of my arrival. I understood that my appointment could not proceed, however my experience with the subsequent appointment did not meet my expectations. The appointment felt rushed, with several questions left unanswered. Had I been a first-time parent, I would have been uncertain whether this standard of care was normal. Based on my experience with my older children, I have not previously encountered such a hurried appointment of this type.

Dear Bri. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're very sorry to hear about the difficulty you had reaching us by phone and the disappointment with your daughter's 8-week appointment. We understand how important these early checks are, especially when you’re managing both your own postnatal care and your baby’s health. We appreciate you arriving despite the challenges, and it’s unfortunate that your concerns weren’t fully addressed during the visit. This isn’t the standard of care we aim to provide, and your feedback will be shared with the relevant team so we can learn from this and make improvements. We'd welcome the opportunity to follow up with you directly to ensure your questions are answered and that both you and your daughter receive the support you need. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me if you'd like to discuss this further. Thank you again for your feedback kind regards Jess Kaur - Practice Manager
