Dangerous delay puts elderly patient at serious risk

My 92-year-old mother, residing in an upstairs apartment with balance challenges, was asked by her doctor to provide a urine sample on a Thursday to rule out an infection potentially causing her mobility issues. From the following Tuesday, we attempted to contact the Bridgnorth medical practice 9 times over 3 days to obtain the results. During 8 calls, the waiting queue exceeded 15 minutes, with one instance reaching 22 minutes. On the sole occasion I successfully connected after nearly 20 minutes, with only 7 people ahead in the queue, I was informed they had the results but required a doctor's review. However, the assigned physician was on vacation and would return the next day. When I emphasized the potential fatal risk of a urine infection causing a staircase fall, I requested an alternative doctor review, but was curtly told they were too busy. I also asked if the reviewing doctor could call me the following morning, only to be bluntly refused. Their customer service was appallingly dismissive. Coincidentally, my mother accidentally triggered her personal alarm, resulting in her emergency transfer to a care home due to being classified as highly vulnerable if left alone. Had she not pressed the alarm, she would have remained at home, continuously at risk of a serious accident or potentially fatal consequences from an untreated infection.
