Deaf Patient Faces Discrimination Accessing GP Services

Frustrated with attempting to contact my GP by phone, I face significant challenges due to my deafness while trying to secure prescriptions or appointments for myself and my children. We rely on RelyUK, also known as TypeTalk, for communication. Unfortunately, when the RelayUK Operator explains that I am using this service because of my hearing impairment, calls are frequently disconnected. To be frank, this situation constitutes a form of discrimination under the Equality Act 2010. It is disappointing that the NHS fails in addressing these issues; even their NHS app does not connect with our GP's office effectively—rendering it impossible to make requests through it—which forces me back to calling them directly only to encounter further disconnections!
