Diabetes care frustration leads to medical maze

After years of managing diabetes on insulin without proper guidance or monitoring, I finally made an appointment with a doctor and felt hopeful about progress, especially with the diabetic clinic at DRI. The nurses were incredibly supportive. I realized I had been taking too much insulin for years. I was prescribed a new pen for weight loss and insulin management, and they even followed up within a week to check on my progress. However, when I went to the chemist, I discovered the new injection wasn't available and one medication was incorrect. Attempting to resolve this, I tried calling the surgery to speak with a doctor, but the receptionist seemed unhelpful and suggested returning to the chemist. A pharmacist who wasn't from the chemist called but couldn't assist and redirected me back to the doctors. The chemist took my contact details to help change the prescription. Since it's now Sunday, I'll try the doctors again at 8am Monday, and if that fails, I'll escalate to the practice manager and potentially the GMC. I might need to change surgeries entirely. I'm not usually one to cause trouble, but we place our trust in medical professionals, so why does this keep happening?
