A few months back I attended the practice for a routine health assessment, during which measurements including weight and height were taken. I was informed that my weight was within an appropriate range for my height at that time. On a subsequent visit, a different clinician performed the same measurements and recorded a different figure, yet concluded that my weight had become a concern. Following this, I received a diagnosis related to eating behaviours, despite having gained weight since the earlier appointment. I find it troubling that two healthcare professionals could reach such different conclusions about my health status based on their assessments. I struggle to understand how my health could be considered worse when my weight has actually increased since the first visit.
