Disappointing doctor and unhelpful medical centre

I recently enrolled at North Street Medical Centre and initially was impressed. The new patient assessment with the nurse was outstanding—she demonstrated remarkable empathy, provided valuable guidance, and thoroughly explored my medical background. Her recommendation to consult a doctor about my health conditions and medications was much appreciated. Unfortunately, my consultation with Dr. Mahdee Elahi was deeply unsatisfactory. His professional conduct was subpar, with unprofessional body language that included casually propping his legs on the chair during our meeting. His communication style was abrupt and dismissive, showing minimal interest in my health concerns. When I inquired about potential medication side effects, his perfunctory response—"all medications have side effects"—suggested either a lack of expertise or a significant disregard for patient education. I departed the appointment feeling marginalized and frustrated. Upon expressing my concerns to the practice manager and requesting an alternative physician, I was summarily denied. The entire consultation felt futile. However, the practice manager did at least assist in scheduling a future appointment with one of the practice partners. Overall, I'm profoundly disappointed with the patient treatment here. While some staff members are exceptional, my interaction with Dr. Elahi and the refusal to accommodate my request for a different physician have seriously undermined my confidence in this medical practice. I sincerely hope they will develop a more responsive approach to patient concerns moving forward.
