Disappointing ear wax removal with poor communication

I scheduled an ear wax irrigation appointment, but upon arrival, I was informed that only one ear could be treated at a time - something that was not communicated during the initial booking, which left me quite dissatisfied. The procedure itself was extremely uncomfortable because the water used was very cold. I repeatedly mentioned the water temperature to the practitioner - three times, in fact - but my concerns were completely disregarded. From previous experiences, I knew warmer water was typically used. The practitioner claimed she could not see any wax being removed and suggested I visit the pharmacy. I explained that the pharmacy would only provide ear drops, which I had already purchased, and that ear wax removal would be challenging due to my narrow ear canal. I recommended a referral to the hospital for a more thorough procedure. She stated she would consult with my GP and that I should await a referral. I hope these observations will help your practice improve its service and patient care.
