Disappointing medical care after twenty years of loyalty

I've been a patient at this practice for over two decades and typically only seek medical attention when absolutely essential. After persistently advocating for a diagnosis for eight years and being dismissed as overly dramatic or imagining symptoms, being repeatedly told I was too young for the condition, I was ultimately vindicated when finally receiving a confirmed diagnosis after enduring prolonged suffering. During my consultation to discuss the diagnosis, the doctor was so unfamiliar that he requested I explain the condition, despite it affecting 1 in 20 people - a prevalence that makes it far from rare and something a medical professional should understand. He could have easily conducted a brief research prior to my appointment, knowing I was coming to discuss this significant health development. On the same visit, when I mentioned potential infection in my surgical wounds, the doctor's response was a dismissive "oh okay" without even requesting to examine them. My family and friends have also observed a significant decline in the practice's medical expertise and patient care in recent years. Consequently, I will be seeking medical services elsewhere in the near future.
