Dismissive Doctor Gave Me Eight Minutes

After a four-day ordeal of persistent fever, sore throat, cough, and vomiting, I attempted to secure an in-person consultation. The GP who phoned me was dismissive and unhelpful, suggesting I would need a three-week-long sore throat to qualify for a blood test. Despite my concerns about potential serious conditions, she casually remarked that even if meningitis was a possibility, I should head to A&E if symptoms worsen. Her approach was patronizing and arrogant, showing complete disregard for my health. The consultation was equally frustrating. Despite completing a comprehensive eConsult questionnaire, the doctor seemed completely unaware of my medical context and rudely questioned why I was even there. They failed to retrieve my previous hospital Urgent Care records from over ten days ago, relating to the same health issue. When I tried to explain my multiple health concerns, I was curtly told to book another appointment - a process that is notoriously difficult. This approach seems counterproductive, as interconnected health issues should logically be addressed in a single session. The practice's reception staff are generally unwelcoming, with the notable exception of Will, who stands out as genuinely polite and professional.
