Dr Diovidi made me feel truly heard

Compared to other NHS services, I find our local healthcare quite commendable. My partner in Cambridge faces significant challenges: doctor appointments require a month's wait, even emergencies aren't guaranteed, and he must navigate a complex online system just to consult a physician. His surgery primarily encourages remote consultations, often requesting photo submissions for medical concerns, which seems impersonal and potentially inadequate. Our local service is comparatively superior, and we should appreciate what we have. While GP appointments can be slow, they're still more efficient than in larger urban areas. I want to specifically highlight Dr. Diovidi (apologies if I've misspelled her name). She's an exceptional doctor - approachable, empathetic, and genuinely attentive. Her consultations feel personal and unhurried, despite undoubtedly tight scheduling. Unlike many physicians, she doesn't make patients feel like an inconvenience. I'm aware that praising her might increase her demand and potentially lengthen wait times, but her dedication is remarkable. In my lifelong experience with this surgery, she's the first doctor who truly seems to care, understand patients' needs, and provide appropriate guidance. We should be grateful for the healthcare we receive during these challenging times. Free healthcare is invaluable, and I sincerely hope it continues indefinitely. Heartfelt thanks to all staff making this possible. I must caution against local development, which could further strain our already stretched medical resources. While housing is necessary, we must consider the potential impact on our healthcare system, especially given the government's apparent reluctance to adequately fund and expand NHS services. Long live the NHS. Thank you.
