Dressing change appointment mishap at surgery

I attended an appointment at the surgery today at 4 PM to have the dressing on my hand changed, as requested by the plastics department under Mr. Ross Wheelse at Morriston Hospital. This was due to an incident where my hand was crushed between a caravan and a concrete post, requiring eight stitches. Upon arrival, I was asked if I had brought a dressing pack, to which I replied negatively. I explained that Morriston Hospital had simply instructed me to come for the dressing change. The nurse, visibly embarrassed, informed me that they had no bandages available in the entire surgery as they needed to be ordered. I felt sympathy for the nurse, who was clearly uncomfortable with the situation. Ultimately, she managed to obtain a prescription from the doctor to procure the necessary bandages from the pharmacy. I want to emphasize that I do not hold the nurse responsible; she could only work with the resources at her disposal, which in this case were nonexistent. I suggest that the manager address this issue promptly. It's worth noting that I've never encountered problems before, and most of the staff are exceptional. However, this experience left me quite upset and disappointed with the overall situation.
