Efficient appointments but treatment plans lacked clarity

I switched to this GP practice hoping to receive better and more timely treatment. The practice certainly excels at providing appointments promptly, which is undoubtedly their strongest aspect. However, my experience with the treatment itself was disappointing. When my child was unwell and we attended appointments, we were consistently seen by a junior clinician. During these consultations, the clinician would outline what the potential issue might be, but no actual treatment was offered. On each occasion, we were informed that a senior colleague would need to be consulted before any decisions could be made. If a junior clinician needs to seek guidance from a senior colleague regardless, I feel it would be more efficient to book directly with a senior clinician from the outset. Unfortunately, no clear treatment plan was established for my child. Whenever my child was unwell, the junior clinician repeatedly mentioned needing to consult with a senior before deciding on treatment. It gave the impression of uncertainty about what approach to take or what the next steps should be. Each time, we were told a senior would be consulted, yet no clear treatment plan emerged from the appointment. If every treatment decision requires consulting a senior, then patients should perhaps be offered direct appointments with senior clinicians instead. It was frustrating because my child did not receive clear guidance on treatment. Additionally, blood tests were carried out, but the results were never properly discussed with us. This left me feeling concerned and unsatisfied. Overall, while the appointment scheduling is efficient, I expected better communication and clearer treatment guidance. In comparison, my previous GP practice provided a better standard of care.
