Elderly patient suffering while healthcare system fails

Utterly frustrated, my elderly wife, 80 years old and recently fitted with a pacemaker, has been battling persistent diarrhea for over a week. I followed the advised protocol and called 111, who then redirected me to a walk-in centre, which subsequently sent me back to my GP. When I contacted the practice's reception, they again suggested I call 111. The whole process is completely absurd. My wife has been a lifelong patient at this practice, yet she's receiving such disjointed and unhelpful care.
