Emergency appointments vanish within minutes of opening

The one star reflects appreciation for the clinical staff who continue to work hard despite challenging circumstances. However, the practice has deteriorated significantly since the pandemic. Previously, same-day or next-day appointments were readily available. Currently, even calling at 8:30am for emergency slots finds them fully booked, with the earliest alternative appointment months away. The telephone reception staff seem dismissive when communicating this, which is deeply frustrating. On previous occasions when contacting the practice about family health concerns, we were redirected to alternative services or walk-in centres, options that are not practical for very young children. The management needs to address these systemic issues urgently, as the current service level makes it impossible to recommend the practice to others in good conscience. It appears there may be staffing shortages, but clarity on what has changed would be helpful.
