Forty-five minute wait to reach reception

My husband attended the surgery for a blood test and was asked to book an appointment to see a clinician as he was experiencing health concerns. He was instructed to call back on Monday at 8.00 am. After waiting 45 minutes to get through, he was then placed on hold to speak with reception staff. At this point, he is still waiting for a callback, and we understand the local branch had no further appointments available. We are in the process of submitting a formal complaint and continue to wait for contact from the practice. Since joining last August, my husband has had ongoing health issues and has only been seen by nursing staff rather than a doctor, which has left us feeling frustrated and disappointed. We are now considering registering with a different practice, though we wonder whether other surgeries might present similar challenges.
