Friendly staff can't make up for subpar medical care

The reception staff are excellent, but the clinical care falls short - my encounters over the past twelve months have been inconsistent and generally unsatisfactory. Notable low points include a GP who became frustrated with me for scheduling an appointment (which the reception team had advised after an abnormal test result, something she had overlooked) and the same doctor's dismissive attitude when I attempted to discuss a return-to-work strategy following an injury (her approach was to simply sign me off completely, as she deemed it more convenient.) It seems that at this practice, patients must be prepared to actively champion their own healthcare needs, which is precisely the opposite of what someone should have to do when they're unwell.
