From frustration to satisfaction: A 20-year journey

Two decades ago, the service was passable, but it's deteriorated significantly over time. The COVID pandemic has become a convenient pretext for avoiding patient interactions. Nearly every scheduled appointment faces cancellation, sometimes on the very day. Recently, I booked my first consultation in five years for June 16th - a mere phone call, not even face-to-face - only to have it cancelled. No alternative was offered; instead, I was advised to call at 8 AM and hope for the best. A previous referral to the hospital for a head lump examination never materialized. They scheduled a breath test but bungled it, resulting in a wasted day off work. It seems they're reluctant to provide any service, especially seeing patients. Ironically, their new website claims they're accepting new patients - presumably for the financial benefits, but what's the point of taking on patients they never intend to help? The website advertises in-person appointment bookings, but two receptionists contradicted this, insisting on 8 AM phone calls only. The promoted eConsult feature is non-functional, and the complaint link is broken. The entire practice is a mockery, with doctors earning £80,000 annually for this subpar service. Appalling. Update 29.03.24: I'm pleased to report a significant improvement in the surgery's performance since my initial review. In-surgery appointment bookings are now possible, with notably reduced waiting times. Appointments are no longer constantly cancelled. My satisfaction with the surgery has greatly increased, prompting me to raise my rating to 4 stars.
