Frustrating and time-consuming gp appointment process

Getting an appointment with the GP has become extremely challenging. The health centre's process is incredibly frustrating. To secure any appointment, patients must call early in the morning, with no alternative options available. I've been dealing with a persistent skin condition for over a year and have delayed seeking medical attention due to these complicated post-pandemic procedures. When I finally called in the early morning, I was scheduled for a GP consultation call at 9 AM, three days later. On the appointment day, no call came until 9:30, when a staff member contacted me to confirm my availability. I was taken aback when they casually stated the GP call could happen anytime between 9 and 11, despite my work commitments. I remained at home waiting for the call. The consultation wasn't even a video call, so the GP couldn't directly examine my skin. Instead, I was instructed to take a photograph and email it to the health centre. This experience perfectly illustrates how a seemingly straightforward medical referral has become needlessly complex and inconvenient.
