Frustrating app blocked my medical access

Unable to reach them via AskmyGP. The single time I managed to connect by phone, they told me appointments are exclusively available through the app. However, the app won't let me log in. Completely ridiculous healthcare service.

Dear Mr MacCallum, I am disappointed you felt it necessary to leave a 1-star review. I am always happy to receive feedback directly and encourage disgruntled patients to contact me first as very often it is found there has been a misunderstanding somewhere. I note you were able to use the AskMyGP application the following day. We have a finite limit each day of the number of patients we can safely see, we are not a walk-in service or a vast hospital with staff that can be drafted in within minutes if demand causes a logjam at the front-door. Following much feedback and urging by the PPG (patient participation group) we have recently altered the access so on days I have at least two principal GPs on the premises the app is open from 8:30 to 9am and then again from 10am if capacity has not all been filled in that first hour. In reality I suggest this is more likely from a Wednesday to a Friday than the traditionally busy days of Monday & Tuesday. Whilst still early days the experience has been much more positive for patients and staff. The telephone lines are also open during these windows for on the day requests. If an issue is genuinely urgent we accept telephone calls at any time we are open (8am to 6:30pm). The next stage is to tackle the telephone access to try and reduce the length of time someone is waiting to speak to a team member. Kind regards, Brian Matthews, Practice Manager
