Frustrating appointment system at doctor's surgery

The futility of being registered at this medical practice is astounding. One would assume that physicians are meant to attend to the unwell, yet securing an appointment here is nigh impossible. If a lower rating existed, it would be more fitting for this establishment. The management of this surgery borders on farcical. The antiquated system requires patients to engage in a frustrating daily ritual, phoning at precisely 8 AM for a same-day slot. Advance bookings are inexplicably prohibited. In reality, one's efforts are met with endless ringing, abrupt disconnections, and ultimately, the disheartening news of no available appointments. My daughter's two-year tenure as a patient has yielded not a single face-to-face consultation. The circular nature of their referrals - directing her to NHS 111, only to be redirected back to her GP - has inflicted considerable psychological distress. Their justification for this archaic system invokes the specter of Covid-19, despite its implementation predating the pandemic. They cite concerns over patient no-shows and potential Covid-related cancellations, but this reasoning reeks of bureaucratic nonsense masquerading as pandemic precaution. It's worth noting that this is not a universally adopted approach; my own surgery still offers the luxury of advance appointments. One can't help but wonder about the ramifications of such a system. How many patients, worn down by frustration, simply endure their ailments until they escalate to emergencies? The practice would do well to consider the emotional toll and potential health consequences their policies inflict upon those they purport to serve.
