Securing a medical appointment has become increasingly challenging in recent times. Even when you dial precisely at 8:30 AM, reaching a staff member is nearly impossible, and you're left waiting in a seemingly endless queue. Sometimes you manage to book a slot, but often no appointments remain available. The process requires persistent, repeated attempts over multiple days just to schedule a consultation. When seeking out-of-hours care, you're frequently directed to an unfamiliar GP practice, forcing you to navigate to an unknown location late at night. My sincere hope is that the system will evolve to become more patient-friendly. Specifically, I believe that when you call at the designated time and no appointments are left, you should be guaranteed a slot for the following day, rather than being compelled to repeatedly call every morning until you secure an appointment.
