Frustrating booking process at local practice

I attempted to schedule an appointment through their online system, which was previously possible, but found myself unable to do so. Upon calling, I was instructed to complete a form and then wait 1-2 days for a physician to determine whether they would grant me an appointment. Given my urgent medical needs, I was compelled to visit the emergency department. This process is unacceptable, as not all patients have the luxury of waiting several days for a potential consultation with their general practitioner.
