Frustrating booking system leaves patients in limbo

I had a phone consultation about test results where the doctor urged me to schedule an urgent examination with the receptionist. Upon calling, I was informed that appointments were completely unavailable until mid-June, with no releases expected until potentially month's end!!!! The proposed solution was for me to call every morning and check for same-day availability. This is incredibly impractical for someone working full-time. I can't randomly call during work hours and suddenly abandon my responsibilities if an appointment becomes open. I specifically called to book something using my pre-planned days off to find a convenient slot. Clearly, this booking system seems designed to exclusively accommodate retired individuals with flexible schedules... When I emphasized the doctor's recommendation for a prompt follow-up, the receptionist explained she was a locum and was unaware of actual availability. I'm not criticizing the individual staff member, but the surgery desperately needs to improve its appointment scheduling process.
