Frustrating Cervical Screening Appointment Runaround

Weeks back, I got the notification for my routine cervical screening. COVID-19 disrupted my plans, so I began trying to schedule in July. During my last call (seven days ago), staff suggested I ring this week about slots beginning 17/8, which worked best for my schedule. As per their previous guidance, I phoned this morning, only to be told the relevant staff member is vacationing next week with no alternative available. Unbelievable! It seems strange that this leave wasn't mentioned during our prior conversation. Had I received clear communication, I would have already secured an appointment. Does anyone know of a medical practice currently accepting new patients?
