Frustrating delay in medical communication and care

Called the medical center regarding a delayed notification about my cholesterol levels, which I only learned about after four months of being on medication. They informed me my blood test showed elevated results, and I'm puzzled why I wasn't contacted earlier, especially considering my heart attack history. I'm completely in the dark about their communication process and feel I should have been informed promptly after the initial blood test. The receptionist assured me someone would call back to explain within two days, but I'm still waiting for that promised phone call.
