Frustrating gp practice fails to understand patient needs

This GP practice is absolutely the worst when it comes to booking an appointment. I requested an afternoon slot due to having two toddlers, but was told to come at 9:30/9am. When I explained my childcare challenges, they claimed appointments are only for emergencies and directed me to call 111. Excuse me? I do have an urgent issue! How can a receptionist determine what constitutes an emergency? I needed to discuss an important health concern with my GP before it deteriorates. Being new to the area, I can't just drop everything for a morning slot - I have to take my son to nursery, which is a 1.5-hour journey. That's precisely why I requested a later time. The receptionist showed zero understanding of patients' personal circumstances and spoke to me in a degrading, unsympathetic, and condescending manner. I've been booking appointments for my two boys, but have delayed my own healthcare until the pain became unbearable. It's challenging enough without this additional stress. I was in tears by 8am, experiencing significant pain - how is this not an emergency? Apparently, I didn't provide a detailed enough life narrative to justify my appointment needs. After this terrible experience, I'm definitely changing GP surgeries.
