Frustrating healthcare app fails patient access

I've been struggling to secure a GP appointment for an extended period. In September, I booked a slot through patient access for mid-October, which was the sole available telephone option, but today I discovered the appointment has vanished from the app without any trace. I was forced to complete a new online form just to request an appointment, and it appears the app is no longer functional for booking - despite the website continually referencing it! I seldom require medical consultations and am only seeking one now because I cannot renew my prescription, which stipulates I must first speak with a GP. Telephone attempts have been futile, and entry to the medical practice is impossible without a pre-existing appointment. This situation is utterly unacceptable. While I genuinely empathize with the staff who are undoubtedly managing an overwhelming volume of requests, making appointments so difficult to obtain is simply unacceptable. I'm left wondering how I'm supposed to obtain my essential medication when I cannot secure an appointment, no one answers the phone, and online booking has been eliminated.
