Frustrating healthcare delays and poor patient care

The reception staff seem incapable of scheduling appointments for patients feeling unwell. They offer emergency slots from 6:30 AM, but only inform patients when the phone lines open at 8 AM. Then, they tell you the next available appointment is in two weeks. The doctor I previously saw was equally unprofessional during my severe back pain consultation. He arranged a blood test, which was processed quickly, but to discuss the results, I had to wait another two weeks. When the results came back normal, he provided no explanation. Due to my persistent pain, he scheduled an x-ray with another two-week waiting period. The x-ray revealed a minor scoliosis explaining my back pain. Physiotherapy helped somewhat, but the pain remained. I contacted my private insurance, who advised getting a GP referral for a back specialist. Another two-week wait ensued, during which the GP questioned my referral and was reluctant about recommending an MRI. The MRI ultimately showed two bulged disks, leading to an epidural injection to manage my pain. Without my private insurance and persistent referral, I might still be suffering. The entire process took 2-3 months of being off work. This morning, I called again because I've been feeling sick for days - experiencing dizziness after eating or minimal activity. Once more, they can only offer an appointment in two weeks. Am I expected to endure these symptoms and potentially recover before seeing a doctor?
